Campbell River's story is closely connected to the sea. For generations, fishing boats, coastal industries and the people who worked on the water have helped shape the city's identity. The Maritime Heritage Centre offers a chance to discover this part of Vancouver Island's history.
Located beside Discovery Pier on Island Highway, the centre is a maritime museum and community space dedicated to preserving the region's coastal heritage. Its exhibits explore the boats, equipment, traditions and working lives associated with the waters around Campbell River.
The centre also hosts educational activities and community events, making it a place for visitors of different ages to discover the region's connection to the ocean.
