EN CHA HUNA [TRANSLATED AS THAT PERSON ALSO LIVES IN THE DAKELH LANGUAGE, INTERPRETED AS” RESPECTING ALL FORMS OF LIFE” ] Are we able to realistically have dialogue when thoughts / feelings are strong? Do we have our personal lines that cannot be crossed? Can we truthfully listen to other points of view?
11:15 AM Willy Blizzard“Sing Along for Joy”
Bring your voices to sing beloved songs! Songwriter / vocalist John Hough, “the richest baritone west of The Rockies” (Vancouver Province). Winning his first singing competition as an underage performer in Toronto’s old Cariboo Club, John has performed at every major folk festival in B.C. In a classic Canadian twist of fate, his music appears in Gordon Lightfoot’s only feature film. As songwriter and vocalist for Willy Blizzard, Hough’s music has garnered airplay on many CBC Radio programmes. A true nature lover since long before today’s environmental movement took hold, John draws deeply from his academic background in Life Science and Environmental Education. Bassist Andrea Law is a third-generation professional musician who brings great stage presence and impeccable rhythm to Willy Blizzard. Andrea honours the memory of her father’s and grandfather’s musical careers. Keeping the beat with wit and humour, Andrea has found the perfect dance partner in her big bass bull fiddle!
12:15 PM Conversation Panel #2 "Finding Sanctuary, Discerning the Sacred in your Life"
The tradition of creating a sacred space where anyone can find refuge is so pervasive, throughout history and geography, that some social scientists call it a “primordial” concept, something we feel almost biologically. How to define Sacred Space? We will explore some of the many different ways to experience a sanctum sanctorum.
2:00 PM COMMUNITY / FAMILY DANCE WITH ADAM DOBRES, PIERRE SCHREYER AND DANIELLE ENBLOM
