The Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre is a waterfront museum and community hub in Cowichan Bay, dedicated to preserving British Columbia’s wooden boat heritage. Operated by the Cowichan Wooden Boat Society, it celebrates the region’s rich maritime history through interactive exhibits, traditional boats, and hands-on workshops. Visitors can stroll along the heritage pier, explore themed exhibits on local boatbuilding, and watch skilled craftspeople at work in the boat shop.
Set against the backdrop of Cowichan Bay’s working waterfront, the Centre offers beautiful ocean views, a glimpse into coastal traditions, and a chance to connect with the Island’s deep ties to the sea.
Parking: Free parking available along Cowichan Bay Road.
Open: Wednesday – Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm.
