Arts on the Avenue turns Ladysmith’s 1st Avenue into an open-air gallery for one day. The 27th edition brings together more than 65 artists from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, including featured painter Patti Ransom. Visitors can meet the artists, explore painting, jewelry, fabric art, carving, and Indigenous-made art, and purchase original works. The festival also offers live music, art demos, a paint competition, a youth art zone, a variety of street food, and the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association hosts its annual sidewalk sale and a beer garden with Bayview Brewing.
