The Fairy Lake Bonsai Tree is a tiny but tough Douglas fir growing from a submerged log in Fairy Lake, near Port Renfrew, BC. Despite its harsh environment, this little tree has survived, making it a unique and photogenic stop for visitors.
Located approximately 8 km from Port Renfrew, right beside Pacific Marine Road. But no official parking lot, no signage - so keep an eye out for the lake as you drive by. Best photos are taken from the road but to get another vantage point, head down a short path through grass and shrubs to the water’s edge. The best time to visit is spring through fall, when the water is calm, creating perfect reflections for photos.
On Fairy Lake located RV-friendly campground with 36 well-spaced sites (first come first serve). There is also a convenient beach area for launching kayaks, paddle boards and fishing boats. A great way to see the Fairy Lake Bonsai Tree up close and from unique angles.
