Mist drifted through the trees, sunlight breaking through in sudden golden bursts — a perfect backdrop for the Lagoon Arts & Culture Festival in Colwood. Over the Saturday, Lagoon West Park and the Goldfinch Arts Centre turned into a living canvas, blending nature, art, and music into one vibrant celebration. Visitors strolled through an old apple orchard, plucking fruit straight from the branches, before wandering into the artisan market alive with colour, texture, and the hum of local makers at work. And when the Mufaro Marimba Band took the stage, their joyful, poly-rhythmic music rippled across the grounds — dynamic, infectious, impossible not to move to. It was a festival that felt both grounded and dreamlike: apples in hand, mist on your face, music in your chest. A reminder of how art, nature, and community can collide to create pure magic.
