The entrance to Eakin Park is located between two houses in a residential cul-de-sac. Parking is limited, so you will likely need to park on Deerlepe Rd. A short path with benches overlooking the water leads to a staircase that descends 30 metres down a wooded slope to a pebble beach.
Nearby Ella Beach is hidden around the corner, though it can be reached by rounding Muir Point and walking west along the shoreline.
To the east are Parsons Spit and Parsons Point, with Whiffin Spit farther beyond. Parsons Point was named in 1846, when Captain Kellett of HMS Herald named it after his first lieutenant, W. R. Parsons.
Framed by tall conifers, the beach is usually very uncrowded. And from there, you get a view across the strait to the Olympic Mountains.
