Bear Beach & Clinch Creek Falls
Juan de Fuca Marine Trail, Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, BC Highway 14 (West Coast),
Juan de Fuca, Capital RD

Bear Beach located off Highway 14 on the island's west coast.

The trail to Bear Beach begins as a wide gravel fire access road. The initial section along the forest service road is relatively easy, but as you approach the beach, expect steep declines. The trail borders private property, so be sure to respect signage and stay on designated paths. While there are no designated campsites, several flat areas provide space for tents, and backcountry camping is permitted.

Visitors can spot wildlife such as seals, otters, and birds, as well as mushrooms and unique features like the striking 'rock-on-pillar' formation.

On the west side of Bear Beach, Clinch Creek flows into the bay. About 60 meters upstream, a hidden waterfall is nestled within the forest - a worthwhile detour for those exploring the area.

Bear Beach is part of the Juan de Fuca Trail. The beach is accessible via the Juan de Fuca Trail, with China Beach to the east and Sombrio Beach to the west.
