China Beach is part of the Juan de Fuca Trail, located off Highway 14. This scenic beach is known for its sandy shoreline and easy access, making it ideal for a family trip.
Accessing China Beach is straightforward, with two parking lots just off Highway 14, 5 km past Jordan River, between Sooke and Port Renfrew. The first parking lot, on the right, serves as the access point to Mystic Beach. A few meters further, the road leads to a second parking area for those heading to the China Beach hiking trail.
The trail to China Beach begins as a well-maintained forest path, gradually descending through towering trees and dense undergrowth before opening to the beach. The trail is easy to moderate, making it a great choice for families and casual hikers.
To the west of China Beach, a small creek cascades, Pete Wolf Creek, down a rock face onto the sand, creating a picturesque waterfall.
