✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮

Mystic Beach is one of the most beautiful spots along the Juan de Fuca Trail, offering a scenic hike, a waterfall cascading off a sandstone cliff, and a rope swing over the ocean. This is deffinatelly a must-see gem during your visit to Vancouver Island.

There are two parking lots off Highway 14: the first lot (right side) offers the easiest access to Mystic Beach and the second lot for accessing China Beach. On the weekends, parking can be a little tight and fill up by mid-morning.

The trail starts flat and gravelled but quickly turns into a dirt path, weaving through lush coastal rainforest. The forest is wild and beautiful - you'll navigate exposed roots, fallen trees, and occasional puddles. Follow red markers to stay on track!

Look to the left, there above the beach is the famous waterfall! The Mystic Beach waterfall is approximately 10 meters (33 feet) high. It cascades off a sandstone cliff directly onto the beach, creating a stunning sight, especially after rainfall. For the best experience, visit at low tide to explore the waterfall and the large sea cave at the far end of beach and swing on a rope swing.
