Matheson Lake is a small freshwater lake tucked inside Matheson Lake Regional Park, just west of Victoria. Covering about 4 hectares (10 acres), it’s perfect for a short, relaxing visit.

A well-maintained 1.2 km loop trail circles the lake, mostly flat and easy for all ages. Cycling isn’t allowed on the lake loop, but the Galloping Goose Trail passes nearby, making Matheson Lake an easy stop for cyclists and long-distance walkers. The park also has a sandy beach, ideal for swimming in warmer months. Surrounded by forest and calm water, it’s a popular local spot in summer.
