Finnerty Gardens is a hidden gem retreat on the campus of the University of Victoria, known for its vibrant collection of rhododendrons and year-round natural beauty.
Spanning more than 6 hectares, the gardens feature over 1,500 rhododendrons and azaleas, alongside companion plants, native species, and winding woodland trails.
In spring, the gardens explode with colour as the rhododendrons bloom in every shade imaginable. Through summer and fall, visitors enjoy serene walking paths, shady groves, and ponds that attract birds and wildlife. Even in winter, the garden offers peaceful greenery and a quiet place to recharge.

Best Time to Visit: April–May for peak rhododendron blooms; open year-round.
