East Sooke Regional Park is one of Vancouver Island’s most spectacular coastal parks — a rugged wilderness where forested trails meet dramatic ocean cliffs. Located just 40 minutes west of Victoria, the park stretches over 1,400 hectares of rainforest, rocky shoreline, and sweeping views of the Juan de Fuca Strait.
The park’s most famous route, the Coast Trail, follows 10 kilometres of wild shoreline, passing tide pools, pocket beaches, and ancient petroglyphs at Alldridge Point. For those looking for a shorter outing, inland trails like Pike Road or Aylard Farm lead through mossy forest to sandy coves perfect for picnics or tidepooling.
Parking: We recommend lots at Aylard Farm or the end of Silver Spray Drive.
Facilities: Picnic areas, pit toilets, trail maps at major trailheads.
Trails: Short easy walks to full-day hikes; Coast Trail (10 km one way) is challenging but stunning.
Best Time to Visit: Year-round.
