✮ ✮ ✮

Moss Rock Park is a rugged, high-elevation green space located in Victoria’s Fairfield neighbourhood. Situated on a rocky outcrop, the park is beloved by locals for its 360-degree panoramic views that stretch across the city, the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, and the Salish Sea.

Unlike Victoria’s manicured gardens, Moss Rock Park offers a more "wild" experience. The landscape is dominated by exposed bedrock, mossy balds, and Gary Oak meadows — an endangered ecosystem native to the region.

The park is primarily a natural area with narrow, winding footpaths. While the climb to the summit is short, the terrain can be uneven and slippery, especially after rain, making sturdy footwear a good idea.

OVERVIEW

Best Time to Visit: Sunset or clear days for maximum visibility of the mountains.
