Gonzales Hill Regional Park is the highest point on the south coast of Vancouver Island, offering stunning panoramic views of the Juan de Fuca Strait, the Olympic Mountains, and Victoria.

The Gonzales Observatory was built in 1914 as the Pacific Coast headquarters for Dominion Meteorological Services and operated for 75 years, recording weather patterns, seismic activity, and astronomical data. Today, the Gonzales Observatory is a part of the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences Biogeochemistry Facility at the University of Victoria, but the park remains open to the public for visitors to enjoy.
