Colwood, Capital RD
Hatley Castle, located in Colwood, is a stunning historical landmark. Built in 1908 for James Dunsmuir, the castle features Scottish baronial architecture and is set on a 565-acre estate. From 1940, the Canadian government adapted the mansion as a naval training facility, known as Royal Roads Military College, where it served as a military institution until 1995. After the closure of the military college, the estate was transferred to Royal Roads University, which now uses the castle as the focal point for its campus.
