Located at Royal Roads University, Hatley Park is a stunning spot to explore, with beautifully landscaped gardens and historic Hatley Castle.
Originally designed in 1912 for James and Laura Dunsmuir, these gardens have been enchanting visitors for over a century. No matter the season, there's always something beautiful to see. Please note that while the gardens are pet-friendly, dogs must be leashed and are not permitted in gated areas.
Japanese Garden – Cross a charming arched bridge into this peaceful oasis, designed by Isaburo Kishida (who also worked on Butchart Gardens). Wander along stone pathways, past wooden lanterns, and enjoy the soothing sounds of running water.
Italian Garden – A picture-perfect space with classic stonework, a wisteria-covered loggia, and bright blooms. The wisteria, planted over 90 years ago, bursts into blue flowers in spring and red trumpet blossoms in summer.
