The BC Forest Discovery Centre is a 100-acre open-air museum in Duncan, British Columbia, dedicated to preserving and sharing the story of the province’s forestry industry. Established in 1965 by collector Gerry Wellburn, the centre combines historic exhibits, scenic trails, and fun experiences for all ages. Exhibits include over 5,000 artifacts, such as vintage logging equipment, chainsaws, and heritage buildings like a logging camp and a fire lookout tower.
A highlight of the centre is the operating narrow-gauge railway, which features restored steam and gas locomotives. The train ride takes visitors on a scenic loop—including a trestle bridge over Somenos Lake.
Seasonal events such as the Halloween Train and Christmas Express make the centre a festive destination year-round.
