Free Parks Canada admission and discounted stays this summer
Parks Canada has announced free admission to all national parks and historic sites across the country, along with discounted overnight stays at select locations — including several spectacular spots right here on Vancouver Island.
The promotion, part of a nationwide initiative to make outdoor experiences more accessible to Canadians and visitors alike, applies across Canada and is designed to encourage people to explore nature, reconnect with the outdoors, and discover the country’s protected landscapes.
Here are a few spots from the list of attractions on Van Isle — from coastal rainforests to historic lighthouses, these locations are among the most scenic in the country and are now more accessible than ever.
- Pacific Rim National Park Reserve: Known for its dramatic coastline, expansive Long Beach, and lush rainforest trails, this Tofino-area park is ideal for surfers, hikers, and kayakers.
- Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites: Located just west of Victoria, this site blends coastal beauty with colonial history.
- Gulf Islands National Park Reserve: Scattered across the Salish Sea, this collection of islands offers secluded beaches, marine life encounters, and scenic campsites accessible by ferry or kayak.
The promotion includes:
- Free day-use admission to national parks and historic sites,
- plus discounted overnight stays at a range of accommodations — from tent sites and oTENTiks to A-frame cabins and other roofed shelters.
